LSFC aims to provide the opportunity for fencers of all abilities to train, learn new skills and enjoy fencing. The club provides formal coaching for all members, and several members run informal advisory sessions for interested parties.
The Club has the use of two full size metal pistes and associated electric scoring equipment. All members have the use of the club kit consisting of jackets, plastrons, masks, gloves, steam foils, and all electric weapons during training sessions and competitions.
LSFC offers extensive training opportunities throughout the week so please check the training times below. If you need help finding the venues please contact one of the committee members.
The Fencing Club competes in BUSA (British Universities Sports Association) in both team and individual events, fielding two male teams (Premiership and First Division) and one female team (First Division). The Club also fields various novice teams to enter beginner competitions throughout the year. Individuals are encouraged to enter National Open Competitions supported by the Club, and the Club aims to enter several members in all Local Closed competitions.
On a more social front, the Fencing Club has an active social life organised by our Social Sec. Reports of our exploits can be viewed via the news page, club forum, and image galleries. The atmosphere in the club is a friendly one. While everyone wants to improve their fencing, we intend to have fun on the way. All members are invited to committee meetings and to participate in any discussions held about the Club.
Our AU Club Homepage can be accessed here. Information may be posted there as well from time to time, so it's worth checking on occasionally.
The club forum can be found here. This is a place for some light-hearted fun, as well as some serious discussions. It's also a pretty good source of news and general updates, so it's worth signing up and checking on.
YouTube Usergroup. The perfect place to upload social videos and fencing themed videos.
